The beginning of life:
Born January 1, 1936, in Taylor County, Butler, Georgia to the late Arsie Mae Pope and George W. Searcy. At eighty years of age, Alzenia was the eldest of three siblings, one of whom preceded her in death, a brother, Albert Searcy. Being raised by parents of deep faith, Alzenia gave her life to Christ at an early age, joining Hopewell Baptist Church and remaining a faithful member until the decline in her health. Even though her presence was absent from the church, her heart was never separate from the Lord. Her faith and dedication to Christ continued until her death.
Blessed with many who loved her, she leaves to carry her legacy one sister, Georgia Mae (Willie) Raines of Butler, Ga.; sister-in-law, Ruth Searcy of Butler, Ga.; nine wonderful children, Willie O. (Martha) Searcy of Imperial Beach, Cal.; Alvin L. (Billy Jean) Akery of Hartford, Ct.; Priscilla A. (Lawrence) Stewart of Columbus, Ga.; Eddie B. (Patricia) Brown of Butler, Ga.; George L. (Mary Francis) Brown of Gary, Ind.; James I. Brown of Kenosha, Wi.; Joyce L. (Sylvester) Hill of Butler, Ga.; Earline S. (Walter) Williams of Hampton, Ga.; Jewel L. (Anthony Little) Haugabook of Butler, Ga.; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren; and a host of very close nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
