In God’s infinite wisdom the on 17th day of July ,1958, in Butler, Georgia, he chose to bring forth a humble vessel and named her Mary Ann Hodges. This blessed creation was brought forth through the God given union of the late of Fred/Sallie Hodges.
Her family later relocated to Atlanta Georgia. Where she attended East Atlanta High. MaryAnn also attended Job Corps of Atlanta where she pursued a study in nursing.
She decided later in adulthood to return to her roots. MaryAnn moved back to Butler Georgia, where she met her husband Earnest Bunkley Jr. They joined in holy matrimony in the year of 1993. MaryAnn was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed by Tyson Foods for 16 years.
God saw you getting tired, a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around and whispered, “come with me”, a golden heart stopped beating on May 2, 2020.
She is preceded in death by two brothers: Ronnie Hodges and Johnny Hodges.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband Earnest Bunkley Jr. Five children; Horatio Hodges (Brenda) Shalinda Hodges, Earnest Bunkley III, Marteshia Bunkley and Ricardo Bunkley; four sisters; Annette Kowlton-Martin(Alfred), Francis Hodges, Sandra Hodges, Dorothy Mathis; three brothers, Cecil Nolton, Vincent Mathis, and Fredrick Hadley(Poronda);three grandchildren, Alexxa Hodges-Woodard (Kenzel), Kenyanna Hodges and Alanna Dugger; one great grandson, Kyrie Woodard; a lifelong special friend, Carol Amis , and a host of nieces and nephews and many other friends and family.
