Our History
Darryl Keith Bentley, 4th Generation Licensed Funeral
Director and Embalmer in the State of Georgia purchased the old Lofton McDougald Funeral Home located at 133 Railroad
Street, Butler, Georgia. He started Bentley-Montford Mortuary, LLC in
2006.
Montford is a tribute to his first wife Benita Montford
Bentley. Benita passed away suddenly in 2002 and left Darryl to raise 3 children as a single father.
In 2009, Darryl joined in holy matrimony to
Patty. Patty worked alongside her husband building the business.
On May 3, 2018, Darryl was involved in a single-car
accident that left him paralyzed.
He spent several months at the Shepherd Center in
Atlanta. After returning home from the hospital, Darryl and Patty
Bentley continued to operate the business as a husband and
wife team.
On June 7,
2021, Darryl passed away one day after his 12th wedding anniversary with
Patty.
God in his
infinite wisdom, called the soul of our beloved husband, father, son,
brother and uncle to glory.
Patty has
stepped out on faith and trusting God to keep Darryl's legacy strong in the
funeral industry. She is working to take
the business to another level.
