Gary Loucas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gary Phelps Loucas was born on January 7, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Juliette and Willie Green Loucas. He is the third youngest of seven siblings: The late- Willie G Loucus Jr. (Sonny). Julia Mae Loucas, the late-Shirlnette Johnson, Jerry Joe Loucas, Brenda Parker and Felicia Loucas who was also his "baby sister" and dearest friend. Gary attended and graduated from Smith High School in Atlanta, GA, and then went o to attend college in Iowa. In 1974 he enlisted in the United States Army where he faithfully served for six {6} years. In 1974 Gary married Shirley Loucas and three {3} children were raised in that marriage: Garrion Loucas, Tracey Loucas-Montford and Stacey Loucas-Zachery. Later, in 2005, he married Doretha Lindsey, who preceded him in death. Gary was a man of many gifts, talents, and skills. He was a professional painter by trade and taught many people the skill. He was a true lover of music and the fine arts; and was a skilled miusician playing the trumpet and guitar. Gary was truly the life of the party! He could listen to any song and tell you the instruments that are being played. Gary will be missed, mourned, and remembered by so many. He leaves to mourn his Dearest Friend of 52 years Shirley Loucas, three children, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters, one brother, many nieces and nephews, family members and a host of many friends. The comical, fun loving, jovial spirit of Gary Loucas will continue to be an impact on all he encountered and will reverberate into eternity.
